1929 Ford Model A Special Coupe with Trunk, Model 49-A Up for Auction is a 1929 Ford Model A Special Coupe with Trunk, Model 49-A.
This car is begging for someone to love and restore her to what she was.
Based on 1928 body features, California Title Serial Number (A958339) and Body Stamp Manufacture Date on firewall (1/24/29) indicates that the car is an early 29 Production Number.
Both Numbers appear to be correct from what I can find through Ford References.
Odometer currently shows 64,258 Miles.
I’m not sure if that is Actual.
Body: For an 83 year old car the body does not appear to have any collision damage, however will need the usual patch panels for the quarters and lower doors.
They are available thru a number of sources.
Inner rear wheel panels appear to be in good condition.
Rear Deck Lid is Fiberglass Fenders: The front fenders on the car are very rough and should probably be removed and sold for a rat rod project.
The left front fender has a wheel well in it.
The rears are currently fiberglass and in very good condition.
A complete set of restorable original Ford NOS steel fenders are included with the auction.
The leather top needs to be replaced.
Interior: Is not original but has been redone in vinyl.
It is in good condition Engine and Transmission Currently is a purchased refreshed engine (*A4356792*).
The gentleman that sold me the motor said it was a running motor bored .060 over standard.
I have not had a chance to start it due to the gas tank needing to be boiled out.
Also included with the auction is the original engine I purchased the car with.
Currently has a Zenith Carburetor which I removed from my running 30 Standard Coupe (Sorry, I like Tillotson Carburetors better).
Newer battery installed.
Has Ford Moto-Meter Radiator Cap with Wings.
Transmission shifts smoothly through all gears.
Rolls and steers Wheels and Tires: Wheels appear to be in good condition with no heavy pitting.
Tires hold air but are old should be replaced for road worthiness.
Misc: All bright work is present except correct drum tail light and mounting bracket.
Exterior driver’s side handle is original Ford.
Passenger’s locking handle appears to be aftermarket.
They will require plating.
Rear Deck lid handle appears to be original but needs work.
I will try to include replacements if I have them.
From what I can tell everything is there except the following Shocks, shock arms, shock links, and E-Brake connecting rod.
Speedo Cable Additional boxes of parts (as pictured) are included with the auction.
If I find any more parts for the car they will be included.
I have a clear California title in my name in hand.
