Neet little project roadster, finish it up the way you like.
“The Volrath Viking†1930 Ford Model A Roadster Project Original Henry Steel This is a real roadster, not a chopped up coupe.
I’ve lost interest and time for the Viking which I named after the steering wheel that came out of a ‘60’s boat.
It’s about 85% complete and just needs some finishing touches to make it your own.
I’ve set the reserve at a very fair price for what you are getting.
I’ve done all the work to this myself so I know every inch of this car.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have as I know I’ll probably forget something in the description.
Unlike some sellers who will only write 2 sentences about their cars, I’ll be writing paragraphs.
All suspension parts are brand new, including the front Lucky 7 dropped and drilled front axle, dropped steering arms, front shocks, front spring, hairpins, all brackets and perches, tubular transmission crossmember, frame mounted master cylinder, rear crossmember, rear 4-link with airbags, lines and fittings and the Double Z’d frame from Mr Mom’s Rods and Restorations.
The engine is a Chevy 305 with a mild cam.
It’s fitted with a 4×2 Wieand intake with Stromberg carbs backed up by a TH350 with a brand new 12†Lokar shifter.
The rear end is a posi unit out of a ’78 Camaro.
It has a brand new Aluminum radiator.
The body is all steel with lower patch panels already installed where needed.
There are still little dents and dings, but no rust through.
It’s sprayed with a satin blue paint on the outside and flat black on the interior.
A ’32 Ford truck grille sits up front with vintage Guide headlights.
The rumble lid needs some adjusting and the checkered fire wall needs to be modified to allow clearance for the distributor.
I didn’t want to cut it in case someone wanted to use a different motor.
The body is supported by a 1†squared tubing subframe.
The wheels are 15†diameter front and 16†diameter rear 1940 Ford steel.
The rear of the car still has it’s push bumper from its salt flat or circle track days.
The windshield frame has been chopped 4â€.
The body is channeled 4†as well.
I have an Original 2 piece hood that also comes with the car.
The interior consists of a pair of bomber seats with seat cushions that are covered by an old canvas duffel bag.
The driver’s seat still has the duffel bag pocket that is perfect for your registration and insurance cards.
It has an aftermarket steel ’32 style dash that is waiting for you to put whatever gauges you want in it.
The floors and transmission tunnel are all steel.
Behind the seat is a mount for a 10â€x33†spun aluminum gas tank.
The floor section behind the seat still needs to be finished.
The steering column is from Speedway and the steering wheel is from a 1960’s era boat.
It has a frame mounted master cylinder with access under the driver’s feet.
I also have a brand new in line adjustable proportioning valve with 2 fluid regulators as well as an original upper dash trim piece.
This car is a project so it will still need other odds and ends to be complete.
What it still needs: -Front brakes.
I have the drums and backing plates, but they need all the guts (springs, pads etc) ,Brake lines, wiring, gauges, tail lights (I planned on using 50’s Pontiac), drive shaft, starter, alternator (included is a brand new low mount that will put the alternator on the lower driver’s side of the block) tranny coolant lines, radiator hoses, rebuild kits for the Strombergs ($27 on ebay), carb linkage, Gaskets (intake, valve cover, fuel pump ), a windshield (glass or Lexan), a battery, a gas tank, a shorter double DD steering shaft (the one I have is too long, but it could be cut down), a compressor system for the rear air bags (planned on using a nail gun compressor with a power converter) and headers.
A buddy of mine owes me a set of Lakester headers that are supposed to be completed in approximately 2 weeks.
I will give the winning bidder an exclusive shot at them when I receive them.
Since this car is not running it will need to be trailered.
I do not have a title for this Roadster, but I do have one for a 1930 Ford Sedan that you’re welcome to have if you want it as well as a Bill of Sale.
Buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements, but I will help load and any other way I can.
Please look at the pictures carefully and ask any questions you might have.
