Nice looking truck, I would swap out a few things on the interior but other than that I like it.
Newly built–all steel.
5″ chop of roof, offset on cut of roof to allow a larger rear window ( chop, doors and special metal work by Salt Flats Speed Shop–Chris Davenport)Frame is built from 2×6 tubular steel, tapered in front and drilled and sleeved, front is pinched to line up with the radiator New aluminum radiator with custom shroud Posie Quartar elliptical springs on rear with custom ladder-bars Custom motor mounts Trailer hitch with wiring I made a plate that goes into the hitch to hold the license plate.
I welded 1/2″ round steel rod along the bottom lower frame rail to give it the look of a 32 frame.
The frame is heavier than a stock frame, but really strong. The rear axel is a ford 9″ 3:50 gear ratio, limited slip Custom new drive line.
Power brakes, disc on front drum on rearWilwood hydraulic clutch350 chevy 4 bolt 10:1 pistons; bigger cam to give a fun lope but still give vacuum for the brakes and run pump gas.
The engine was built by C&T Machining.
Roller tips, Double hump fulie heads.
Original Corvette valve covers, media blasted, red striped and painted clear.
Matching air cleaner.
MSD ignitionSanderson headers with exhaust cut into them so it runs under the truck with smitty mufflers.
The cut in is done in such a way it does not show.
I have solid block offs for a mellow sound, or ones with baffles and a 3/4″ hole so you get more sound and can hear the cam (this is the way I like to run it), or you can run it wide open.
The truck runs straight and at 70mph when you put it in 5th gear it is doing 2000rpms .
It is quick off the line, great power through the gears, lots of fun!! Rutabeg lovered hood top.Power windows.GM column, a keyed fuel pump (theft guard, take the key out and the truck will not go far.)New door handles that are keyed.CD player with 4 speakers in ceiling.Dynomat everywhere!! Also inside the doors Doors shut solid Hurst Slicks with extra groves, runs fine in the rain.
Firestone tires on front.
I have an extra set of rear tires and wheels to run in the winter.
They are fun because you can spin them as the Hurst slicks really hook up.
New Flamingriver reversed Corvair steering box mounted under dash to give side steer.
Custom body pocket for the pitman arm.Oak in bed of truck 16 gal.
Custom Heater cover for new heater core, old look, good performance.Stewart Warner gaugesDolphin Electric speedo tach Chromed split wishbonesFront window opens out for air, also the front cowl vent opens.
