Seller states:

This is Gear Grinder member Jack Kukura’s 1932 Ford Roadster.

Genuine and documented, SCTA Dry Lakes racing history from 1947 through 1960.

One owner, builder, co-driver, 1940 till his death in 2004.

Current owner purchased from Kukura family in 2005.

It is fully documented through SCTA The driver from 1956-1959 (?), was Jim Lindsley (father of Larry Lindsley), who is in the 200 MPH Club and was SCTA and Gear Grinder President.

Last highest known speeds El Mirage & Bonneville (1958-1959) known are 145 mph, 163 mph, 172.41 mph, and 183.93 mph Bonneville, 1958.

Included with purchase are first known timing tag (mounted on dash, 5-25-47; 97.29 mph) and five trophies including 1958 Bonneville trophy, 1958 Bonneville souvenir program, and copy of a 12 minute home movie/video showing its run (as #24D) as D-Gas Modified Roadster at Bonneville, 1958.

Also a newly discovered tape showing 1960 (?) Bonneville run as (SCTA Numbered) 10A spinning out entering timing trap at an estimated 200 miles per hour.

With purchase comes the e-mail address of the west coast collector who bought at a yard sale in CA, 1940’s & 1950’s snapshots of Kukura’s Roadster and 5 or 6 of its original timing tags (which were won with this car.) He may or may not be interested in selling them.

If you look closely at the bordered picture of the car on the grass, you can still see the shoe-polish number 367 still on the door – which matches one of the timing tags These opportunities do not come often.
