Find this Chrysler : Royal for sale on eBay
Seller states:
WHAT A FIND!! owner came back from Viet Nam in 1962, dad died in l963 and he parked it in the garage and there it sat for the next 48 years until I found it!! Of course the tires were all flat and torn but they took air- and the tires are still up.
The car seems complete! the only item not there from what I can see is the passenger side windshield wiper arm.
All the trim, bumpers, hubcaps- all of it still attached.
The car has mohair seats (real dirty) covered with seat covers which are also more than dirty-( mice had a ball in the car).
The rear view mirror has a clock (tough shape), the original shifter knob is in an extras box with other stuff.
There is a spare, jack with handle, tool kit.
The rear passenger side door is apart?? but all the workings are in the extra box with the window trim, door handles, window & door cranks and door panel.
The window has b/b shots and cracked.
the drivers side window is broken.
The passenger & drivers side vent window are very clouded.
The windshield and rear windows and other door windows are clear.
The engine has been filled with oil- both the crankcase and the heads (spark-plugs were taken out and oil added to each cylinder-per the original owner).
It has a 4 speed manual transmission.
The engine should start with a little work.
It is complete.
There is a deco heater.
The rear seat has the cloth grab bars over the vent windows.
the back of the front seat has an additional grab bar.
There is a chrome fog light.
The tear drop headlights & glass are intact.
All the rubber welting around the windows doors and windshield need replacing.
The running boards are missing the rubber overlay and there is some rot (see pictures).
The only other problems are a couple of small dents on the front fenders and some rot starting over the rear fender passenger side and below the trunk behind the rear bumper which has been hit (small dent).
The bumpers need to be re-chromed.
Otherwise, there are no dings or bangs on the body.
It is straight.
The paint is gone and surface peeling has set in – just surface rust.
The roof is straight and right.
The trunk was sprung but opens easily (apparently someone tried to force the it closed and ripped the trunk around the hinge which will require some attention).
The doors open and shut easily, hinges are great..
Frame looks good-never put it in the air, quick look can’t see any problems.
Muffler is hanging off.
When it was parked 48 years ago, the front steering rod was snapped and is just hanging.(probably when it was towed back when).
The rear shade is on the rear deck.Vin Plate and mfg plate are on the firewall.
Headliner is torn and hanging.
I did nothing with anything on this car.
It is as found.
It is being sold AS IS AS FOUND.
No Reserve.
What more can I say-this is a great one to restore.Remember, it has been sitting for 48 yrs and is in need of restoration.
Note drastic price reduction- lost storage vehicle must go!! Spend about 1 day on this car and I am quite confident it will run and drive.
Of course the brakes/tires/hoses etc would need attention.

When my husband and his first wife divorced, he had to give up a55 Bel Air and was very upset…We have been married for 35 yrs. and I have been looking for something reasonable for him to restore….it got put on the back burner when our 21 yr old daughter passed away a few years ago….but I want us to stop feeling sad and do something fun….how much for your Dads car?….I would love to try and get it for him…..Thanks, Karen (musigal42@aol.com)
