Up for auction is my very RARE 1940 LaSalle four door convertible! It is only one of 125 built in 1940, It is one of eight still known to exist.
IT IS THE ONLY KNOWN RUNNING DRIVING ORIGINAL UNRESTORED ONE LEFT!! It is in very nice condition being 72 years old.
The body is straight with no dents, she still wears about 80% of her original paint, and looks great from about 10 feet away (look at the pics) all the chrome is there and not dented (yes its worn and dull) the body and frame are amazingly rust free, with only some pinholes on the trunk floor.
Her tired engine starts right up, idles smooth, has good oil pressure, and DOES NOT run hot.
although she smokes a little, and burns some oil, she is driven regulary to local shows and out on the town.
She floats down the road as she should, shifting effortlessy, and quitely.
The brakes are all new, as well as the coker tires.
The top is in decent shape with no rips or tears.
In the last year she had the fuel tank pulled cleaned and lined with alcohol restiant lining.
She has new plugs, points cond.
cap and rotor.
The heater will cook you, and all the gauges work.
It does have the original radio, which is not hooked up.
(I have no idea if it works or not).
All the pieces are there! The patina on the paint is awsome, and there are no rips or tears in the leather.
The original carpet is worn and the carpet in the pictures was installed for my sons wedding.
(the original is in the trunk).
Everything but the radio and clock work.
Yes the spotlight works! She runs and drives fine, she just needs a new home! Preferably in a museum, or to somebody that can appreciate history AND NOT RESTORE HER!! Once she is restored all history is lost.
