Has a bunch of good things going on, but a few changes I would make to give it a more retro look, I am not a fan of the steering wheel at all , for instance.

*************************************************************************************Get ready for the summer car shows with this unbelievable 1950 Mercury chopped top convertible.This car was built in Ohio by a father-son team and is a tribute to Shirley Barris (who died in 2001),wife of George Barris.I was told George gave the builders some customizing ideas for the car.The dash has been signed by George Barris “The King Of Customizers” and Gene Winfield who is well known for his outstanding paint jobs.
The build took 4 years to complete.This Mercury has won many trophies and awards over the years with myself and the previous owners.The car has been shown up and down the east coast, has appeared in newspapers, magazines, shown on The Speed Channel,won “Custom Rod Pick” from Good Guys Magazine in Jacksonville Florida in 2006 and also was featured Centerfold in the January/February 2007 Road Thunder Magazine.I hate to sell, but my health prohibits me from enjoying the car as much as I’d like to.

Appleton Spotlights.Molded Lake Pipes, fade away doors, custom skirts with mercury look flare.Bumpers, bumper guards and grill from a 1953 Desoto, headlights are frenched custom eye lids.Oyster Stay-Fast convertible top, manually operated.Rear tail section is from a 1955 Lincoln.
Hood corners have all been rounded.Under the hood is a rebuilt 1974 Chevy 350 backed up by a ’74 350 Turbo trans with shift-kit and a ’74 Nova rear end on a ’74 Nova sub-frame mounted to a 1950 Mercury frame.New radial tires mounted on custom made Chrysler wheels.Drop front springs and 3 inch lowering kit.All new chrome, painted pin-striping, rear air lift, custom tail pipe extensions, Brockman Exhaust, Flame-thrower kit, Mustang fuel cell,all new brakes and brake lines, new master cylinder, convertible roof mechanism is chopped 4-1/2 inches and from a 1964 Chevelle, New Edlebrock carburetor, alternator and distributor,water pump, valve covers, intake manifold,vintage heater, dash switches, gauges, radiator, and so on, are also new.Polished step sills, custom chrome on top of doors,Mule horn, Wolf whistle, custom door handles,kill switch under hood , Shaved door and trunk handles, hidden hood and trunk release, Yellow LED lighting under car, under dash and in engine compartment.
