Gene Winfield Custom Sled
When it comes to true classic customs what could be better than a Custom 1950 Mercury Sled. Gene Winfield was instrumental in the design and build of this so cool show car. True attention to detail, with every inch of exterior and interior redone.
Custom Body Modifications:
Original four door hardtop converted to a two door convertible that’s been shaved, decked, with pancaked hood, frenched lights, severe chop, hood louvered, smoothed firewall, Desoto grill, ’51 Mercury rear-end body, late 80Õs Cadillac rear tail lights. Hand-fabricated removable Carson top made by Gene Winfield, V-butt windshield, neon under-carriage lights, all new chrome by Paul’s Chrome Shop, 1957 Cadillac “sombrero” wheel covers with custom spikes, PPG “Merlot” paint with pearl by Antonio Olivero and the incredible fit and finish by Austin Curless of Curless Customs.
Engine: Crate 350/300 HP GM Performance engine, turbo 350 transmission with Edlebrock 600 Carb and Billet pulley system, Jet coated Sanderson Headers with 2 1/2 inch stainless exhaust with Flowmasters.
Suspension: Air ride by Ride Tech System with gas shocks. Rebuilt stock front and rear end, front disc brakes, rear drums, power steering with 605 steering box.
Interior: Custom sculpted original Mercury bench seats in Italian leather, saddleback (seats, door panels, headliner, trunk), 1949 smoothed Mercury dash, Stuart Warner gauges with all new wiring, Flaming river steering column, LeCarra Mark 10 steering wheel with billet ring horn, In-dash DVD player with IPod connector, Polk audio: speakers, woofer, and amplifiers, complete detailed trunk with amps, subwoofer, and hidden compartments Ð all leather with Billet trim.
