  1. I was in high school in the 50s and always loved the sound and look of the 51 Merc Coupe! The ones in Daytona where I grew up were all Chopped, Channeled and sported dual “Hollywoods” with a cutoff switch in the dash. When one of them came along side my lowly 49 Ford Coupe, I didn’t even have to look over to see what it was next to me. The sound of that Merc engine at idle was a sound I’ll never forget!! It would take a lottery win for me to be able to afford such a customized vehicle like that today, but I can dream can’t I?? ;-) This Red one is a Peach!! Kudos to whoever did the work!! Jim
