This baby was just released from North West Connection Rods and it sounds great through the 1 5/8in sidewinder.
The engine was just rebuilt and, “Freshened.” The 2332cc motor is a monster!
New pistons and rebuilt heads. High ratio rockers. The engine is set at 9.5 to 1. 130 cam.
Also, just rebuilt 44 IDF Webers carbs. They were rebuilt twice and put on a fuel spectrum analyzer for the best jetting set up.
1 5/8 Sidewinder exhaust. It’s ceramic coated as well as the 1 5/8in stretched heater boxes.
Compufire DIS-IX distributor less ignition system.
New RLR polished aluminum oil breather with steel braided lines.
The transmission is a brand new pro-street freeway flyer transmission. It has about 2K miles on it now. This was built from Chico. A So Cal specialist. The Engine and transmission combo was $7500 originally.
Front disk brakes conversion was the first thing done.
The doors and interior has been covered with , “Extreme Dynomat.”
All new weather stripping has been installed on doors, all windows, hood, trunk, and engine. Also the windows felt and inner seals replaced. No headliner installed yet.
New duel sun visors.
New Albert swan neck mirrors.
All parts for this restoration came from Wolfberg West.
Including a new wiring harness. 12 volt obviously.
New Gene Berg locking shifter.
Chrome Empi 5 spoke wheels with brand new Goodyear tires.
New Koni shocks.
The fuel tank was Boiled clean, then relined and sealed from a radiator company. I also rebuilt the petcock with a kit from WW.
I also kicked down for a brand new re-manufactured convertible deck lid for better ventilation. All with fresh paint on it. The color is metallic Bay Grey from the Smart Car line.
This is a true collector. Come on. It’s a 1957 Volkswagen Bug with the rag top.
And Yes! It also has a new paint job too! Bay Grey metallic.
I have a folder with receipts.$6000.00 just recently. For real.
So that’s about a $5000.00 engine to start with. Then another $3500.00 just dumped into it to make it run great.
