Belly Tank — P38 Drop Tank Here is a Bonneville belly tank.
I have been building this over the last couple of years.
It started life as a World War 2 P-38 bellytank.
I wanted something like SoCal.
I was building this to run in the V4F class.
It has a 1932 Model B Flathead 4 cylinder, with a Winfield head milled 060, external oiling, ported and polished ports, stainless valves.
It’s all connected to a Harley Davidson 4 speed trans.I did take it to Speed Week to do a pre-check and to ask some questions.
I still have to mount the fire system, which I have.I am 6′ tall, 236 lbs., and I feel claustrophobic with the canopy shut.
I have a friend who is 5’9″ and 170 lbs.
and he climbs in and out perfectly.
All my safety equipment was bought a couple of months ago.
I have all the fire clothing and gloves and shoes.
New, never worn.
The record in V4F Fuel Lakester is 150.2 mph, and I feel this has a great shot at that record.
I have this listed on Hotrodhotline, under projects.
