Rocketbilly Racing is in the process of building a new vehicle, and therefore have this one up for sale.
PYRO has been all over the country and even around the world.
This is an incredible opportunity to make great money while having the time of your life! This truck is something special in that it crosses over many entertainment genres including airshows, NHRA/IHRA race tracks, NASCAR circle tracks, monster truck shows, fairs, displays at business openings, and television commercials.
The truck is booked for more shows this season which would allow training in the truck and in the airshow industry.
THE TRUCK: PYRO is a 1982 International Transtar 4300 powered by a Westinghouse J34-WE-48 Turbojet engine with afterburner from a T-2 Buckeye.
The engine has a single spool, 11 stage axial flow compressor and single stage axial flow turbine.
The J34 produces 12,000 HP with 6,500 lbs of thrust.
PYRO is capable of reaching speeds of over 300 mph!!! PYRO proves that the lack of aerodynamics can be offset with intense thrust.
If PYRO’s flaming afterburner isn’t enough, it has been equipped with flame throwing exhaust stacks.
These stacks operate both on propane and nitrogen propelled diesel.
This high octane combination allows PYRO to boast one of the most impressive fire displays in the world shooting over 30 feet in the air! PYRO is an attention getter with its Nathan Airchime K5LA off of a locomotive.
PYRO also lights up the night with its strobe system and LED lighting.
PYRO Jet Truck has a current NHRA chassis certification sticker.
