1947 HUDSON PICKUP – HORNET TWIN CARB
HUDSON VINTAGE HOT ROD PICKUP TRUCK

This is a great driver quality – 1947 Hudson pickup truck. We recently took this in trade on an earlier nickel age car at Hershey. It runs and drives great. We are told that it came from Arizona. The truck appears to have no rust and no prior rust repairs. The interior is vinyl. It runs and drives out superbly. It has a later Hudson Hornet “Twin Carburetor” engine and transmission. Radio does not work. The wheels appear to be 1960′s Mopar, not original. The spare is an original Hudson wheel. The bed is a bit wavy, which leads us to believe that it must have been a bit banged up at one time. The paint is shiny, probably 25+ years old, but more of a good commercial body shop quality vs. restoration grade. The paint looks good, has no adhesion problems and nothing appears to be busting out anywhere. All and all, it looks good. More photos are available. We feel that is a truck that someone could probably fly in a drive home. It starts instantly and seems to have no issues. The previous owner told us that he had driven the car on antique car tours and put an approximate 1,000 miles on it over the course of the last two years. The engine was supposed to have been overhauled in 1991. As well as it runs, we believe this to be true (but no documentation). The odometer reads less then 2,000 miles, so our best theory is, it was likely set back to zero when the new motor was put back in. It is tight on the road. The brakes work great. Even the handbrake works well. It seems very happy at 60-65 mph, but could probably run at even higher speeds without a problem. The chrome all appears to be original (never replated) and very presentable. All and all, this is just a real attractive truck that will be fun to use right the way it is. It is also equipped with a proper trailer hitch. It appears that the hitch is suitable for pulling either a vintage wooden boat or maybe, better yet, a vintage travel trailer. This truck has a great look and tends to gather crowds whenever it pulls into a restaurant or a gas station. This truck represents true fun without needing to spend a bunch of money. We have clear title.
