Seller states:
1942 Ford Super Deluxe
The RAREST of the Henry Family of Woodies.
This is an original wood, original steel car. I purchased it 4 years ago. The previous owner had it for 20 years. There were approximately 5,800 of these (’42 super deluxe) produced. This one has three seats (rare!). The wood is all original with only 2 very minute damaged spots (as displayed in the photos). The body is all steel (no Bondo), the floors are all original and have had some metal patches put in. The floor boards have been sand-blasted and coated with POR epoxy for protection.
The interior is in GREAT shape – no rips/tears/ect. Dash is all original and could use grain painting. No cracks in any windows – all doors open and close with no issues.
The engine has been gone thru and runs great
Every major component has been either rebuilt or replaced – Items new or rebuilt since it has been in my possession:
Clutch Pressure Plate & Throw-out Bearing
Stromberg ’97 Carb pair
New Intake
Finned Aluminum Edlebrock Heads (still have original parts included with the sale).
Red’s custom Headers with new Dual Exhaust & Smitty Mufflers (sounds great!)
New Thermostats
Rebuilt Radiator
Rebuilt Generator
New Hoses, Belts and Wires
Rebuilt original shocks
New Coker Classic Wide Whites
New Hood Springs
Sealed Fuel Tank
New Sending Unit
New 6V eletric fuel pump
New Fuel Lines and Filters
New Battery, Voltage Regulator and Cables
New old stock Gauges
The Brakes have been completely rebuilt and the Steering has had new Rubber Bushings in front-end.
This car is not a trailer queen, but an original driver. It has very minor bumps and bruises. All the windows open and close properly. Everywhere this car goes draws major attention – car shows ect. People love it. The chrome on the car is in excellent condition, as is the grill. Has spare tire carrier – the radio is a Wonderbar and does not work. The clock also does not work. The heater has been sealed but needs to be wired up. This car is a great investment and I am only selling it because we are downsizing and a lot of my toys have to go.
This is a Classic Car , just a no nonsense Coupe, I dig the Grill and the wheels as well as the interior. What a nice Ride.
