This stunning 1955 Bel Air 2 door hardtop was built by the king of kustoms himself, George Barris. As you can see the body has been highly customized with 55 Pontiac bumpers, 55 corvette grill, 54 chevy wrap around park lights, 55 packard frenched tail lights, louvered hood, and much more. The body is arrow straight with an excellent fit and finish. All seams and body alignments are true, car is very tight all over. The paint is very slick with a high gloss finish and with consistent depth throughout the paint. All chrome, glass, and weatherstripping are in excellent condition. The drive train consist of a small block chevy 350 with tri-power, offenhauser aluminum intake, chrome water pump and generator and is backed by a muncie 4 speed transmission. The rear axle is the original with a 3.36 gear ratio. Other features include disc brakes, air conditioning, power antenna, remote trunk release, undercarriage lights, lake pipes, flame thrower tail pipes, custom fender skirts, and wire wheels with new white wall radial tires. The interior has been completely finished in a rolled and pleated custom design with the dash also being covered. All new carpet, headliner, polished dash inserts, AM-FM cassette, and 60 Impala steering wheel. This is an extremely solid car on the road with an excellent ride. The car does not have power steering but will amaze you how easy it is to turn. I drove the car for two days and thought it had power steering until I looked closely under the hood and I could not believe it. You can easily turn the wheel with one hand sitting still. The transmission shifts like butter with absolutely no slop or grinding and the clutch is easy on the leg. You won’t find a better driving led sled than this one. She is ready to go and show.
