This car is a original 60′s california gasser, see articles from 1998 enclosed.
Original paint from the cowl back. Rick Knight matched the original paint on the front fenders and hood (ghost flames, pin stripeing, racing stripes) paint scheme. See pic from Irwindale circa 1970 enclosed.

Street: Tagged and Titled in Oklahoma, I drove this car on the street from 2000 to 2004. Original 1939 Pontiac tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, original 37 chevy headlight lenses and bezels with a halogen conversion and high and low beam. Disc brakes on front with power brake booster, stops excellent. Complete exhaust system.

Race: Car runs 10.20′s @ 135mph in 1/4 mile and 6.30′s @ 109 in 1/8th mile. Original A-1 fiberglass front end with original one off race weight fiberglass doors. Original to the car 1940 Willys straight axle with 1937 chevy parrell leaf springs and a Charlie Smith front disc brake conversion. Vega cross steer, So-Cal steering dampener, 90/10 race shocks on front. Neil Chance turbo 400 trans, Larry wilson 5500 stall convertor, B & M ratchet shifter, 57 Olds rear with axle houseing brace and 4.30 pro-gears, full 35 spline spool with 35 spline axles. Fab Craft solid crush sleeves and 1350 U-Joint. Original to the car ladder bars (go all the way up to just in front of the front door) with sliders. This car hooks hard and goes streight. Runs 1.50′s 60 foot.

Motor: 468 Brotherton BB Chevy motor with 63-1/8 mile and 8-1/4 mile runs from fresh. Brodix BB 1 CNC ported heads, crane micro-lite lifters with Reher-Morrison stud girdle. Vintage Cal-Custom valve covers with spacers, Jesel belt drive, edelbrock water pump, moroso electric motor on water pump, custom aluminum ratiator (runs very cool) with electric fan.14 to 1 Mahle pistons, oliver rods, GM steel crank, aluminum dragster pan, 700 Comp solid roller cam, ATI dampener, 10-gal fuel cell, 180 PSI mechanical fuel pump, custom fender well headers and full exhaust with mufflers, tunnel ram gasket matched to heads with twin 660 center squirter carbs, vintage Hilborn 671 scoop. Total MSD system with 6AL box and shift light. Sam Woodard cage certified to 8.50, cam lock belts, early 60′s Sun tach converted to electronic, 28 X 12 X 15 Good Year slicks with 63-1/8th and 8-1/4 mile runs, original Halibrand 8 1/2 X 15′s on back with Wheel Vintiques Halibrand look-a-likes (etched to look like original magnesium) on front. Vredestein 130 mph 165-R-15 front runners, full interior with headliner delete, blue plexi-glass, side, qtr and rear windows with NOS front glass. Front and rear window garnish are chrome.

This car is completely sorted out, needs nothing!

One more comment, with the 4.30 gear this car is very fast at the big end and only turns 6400 rpm through the lights. I have it jetted on the fat side now but with a taller gear, say a 56 or 88 where the motor would use a lot more of it’s power band up around 7000 to 7200 rpm. I think it would be a 10.0 car, maybe even into the high 9′s. I set the car up this way on purpose so the motor would last longer. I foot brake this car from idel.
